The geek prom

Every now and then, geeks from all walks of life get together for a formal event.  Last night about 750 of them got together for another TechCrunch party.  If somebody wanted to cripple the internet, it would have just involved some 'cracked up' poisonous snakes released at August Capital last night.

Thanks to a bounty, there was a streaker in attendance. Pictured above is Nick Douglas, famed author of Valleywag and Michael Arrington, party host and famed author of TechCrunch.  They're pretty recognizable faces in this hood, but probably not so to the non-geek crowd.  That handshake represents an editor of US Weekly shaking hands with an editor of The New Yorker.

TechCrunch parties have gone from bbq's hosted in Mike's back yard, to full out formals.  So what better way to show up then in box.net's pimped out ride:

The one thing I walked away from last night, was that it was the first time I've seen a line for the men's lavatory and NO LINE for the women's lav?   Somebody on line (standing in line, not the internets) had to actually point out that's cause it was an all dude event.  Well not entirely all dudes, but pretty heavy on the ratio.  I should have snapped a pic of the men's bathroom, it wasn't the prettiest by nights end.
